Come Meet the Giant Sloth and other paleontological wonders of Southwest Florida!  There is never a charge for parking, and our low admission price includes a daily animal demonstration and three planetarium shows as well as the museum, trails, butterfly pavilion, aviary (in its last phase of construction: take a look!) and animal enclosures.

Weekly Events

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, 11 am – All About Alligators
Live gator talk from our knowledgeable naturalist at the Gator Pond.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 2:30 pm – Eyes on Eagles
Live raptor/bald eagle talk from our knowledgeable naturalist at the McNew Pavilion.

Every Friday, 11am – Solar Observing using the Coronado Solar Telescope Are there sunspots today? Prominences? A flare? Planetarium volunteers and/or staff will show you the Sun “live” as few people get to see it. Catch our narrow-band filter’s detailed view of the Sun live on the platform in front of the planetarium at 11 am on Fridays, weather permitting.

Sundays, 12 noon-3 pm – Dog Day Afternoons
Bring your dog(s) to CNCP on Sundays between noon and 3:00 pm to walk the trails with you. The cost is $5 per human. Your dog(s) must be on a leash. They are not permitted to visit the museum, animals, or butterfly enclosure. Water is available: BYO bowl. We can’t wait to see you and your furry family member each and every Sunday!

Sundays, 1:00-3:00pm Bluegrass Jam on the Porch
Sunday Bluegrass Jams on the Back Porch are back!  Now in our fourth year of jamming to toe-tapping bluegrass standards, ballads, and gospel tunes, our Bluegrass Jam plays something for everyone. The group is dedicated to playing bluegrass and sharing it with others. Bring your bluegrass instruments and your bluegrass tunes (or just your bluegrass heart, to listen) and come to the porch for the Sunday Bluegrass Jam organized (loosely) by local bluegrass musicians.

Dec 7 – 17 only: 4 pm Kids’ Laser Show in the Planetarium: $5/seat Tickets available online or at the front desk by 3:45 pm. NOTE: Saturday Kids Laser shows are at 3 pm when there are UFO Concerts scheduled at 4 pm.

We show three different planetarium shows each day, and we have a live orientation to what you can see in our local night sky as the initial part of each show (this is our sneaky way of getting you dark-adapted!), followed by a fulldome planetarium “movie.”

Planetarium volunteers and/or staff will show you the Sun “live” as few people get to see it. Catch our narrow-band filter’s detailed view of the Sun live on the platform in front of the planetarium at 11 am on Fridays, weather permitting. Included with admission.

Have a picture taken with Santa, walk a small holiday-lighted trail with holiday music to a beautiful pavilion and visit the campfire for marshmallows. Crafts, Games, other Holiday goodies in the Museum. Plus: discounted admission to the Holiday Laser 6 pm show for Holiday Nights attendees. Today is a half-day in most Lee County schools, so head over to the Nature Center for a day of wild adventures, to burn off some of that end-of-term energy! Our weekly Winter camps start next Tuesday.
