Our volunteers are a huge part of what makes Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium a success. You can earn volunteer or service-learning hours in a number of areas such as: gardening, landscaping, maintenance, office work, animal care, education and more!

Donate
As a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, we receive all our funding from admission and donations. Every dollar we receive is put back into the care of our animals and the upkeep of our 105 acres.
If you would prefer to donate items to help us with our everyday functions, we are always in need of new and used items such as:
sheets and towels, hand and dish soap, hand sanitizer, sunscreen and bug spray, dog toys, produce, peanut butter, cleaning supplies, gardening tools, and office supplies! Visit here for a current list of urgent needs.

Internships
We offer a wide variety of professional internships at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate school levels. We work directly with each individual student to develop an internship plan to focus on the goals and responsibilities of the student to maximize the real-world experience provided.
